COVID Memorial in Church Hill
March 1 @ 6:00 pm - March 2 @ 6:00 pm
There will be a floral heart wreath laying at Jaycee Park in Church Hill, TN on Monday, March 1st at 6:00pm. This will take place in the gazebo. The heart will stay there until at least Tuesday evening. Feel free to come by and honor our local lives lost and those who are still suffering daily. This is part of a national project called The Floral Heart project (floralheartproject.com) and Marked by COVID (markedbycovid.com). Marked by COVID is a grassroots effort to bring awareness for more permanent memorials/days as we have lost over 500,000 people to COVID in the past year. This is the Times News article about the event. https://www.timesnews.net/living/family/so-many-families-didnt-get-to-say-goodbye-church-hill-hosting-march-1-memorial-for/article_0f379ade-778b-11eb-a65d-33a60a8c09b4.html
Over 50 cities across the United States have declared March 1st as COVID Memorial Day and Church Hill’s mayor has done the same.
