Prescription Drug Disposal Event
September 11 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pmFree
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is teaming up with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the Sullivan County Anti-Drug Coalition to hold a prescription drug disposal event at two locations. The event is aimed at making medication disposal more convenient for residents who live in rural sections of the county. The abuse of prescription drugs, particularly opioid painkillers, has resulted in epidemic levels of addiction, overdoses, and death across the country and in Tennessee. These unused and unwanted prescription drugs, when left in drawers and cabinets, are at risk of being used, stolen or sold by family members and visitors.
