09 Apr Virtual Resources and Services for Prospective College Students
Emory & Henry College, UVA Wise and King University have a common consensus for prospective students.
“While we are at home and students are at home, we are still working,” said ETSU Asst. VP for Student Life and Enrollment Sam Mayhew. “We know this is a competitive environment. They have a lot of questions about their next steps, and we are here to help, I think is the biggest thing.”
Recruitment strategies lately are taking on different forms. “Having virtual open houses is a big plus. We’ve also talked about using social media. You will see a lot of activity on our Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat,” said Emory & Henry College VP for Enrollment Management and External Affairs Jennifer Pearce.
And while in-person tours and meetings are put on hold, video conferencing is part of the new normal, at least for now.
“They can elect to and schedule a time to Zoom in with their admissions counselor as well, and have those one-on-one conversations,” said UVA Wise Chancellor Donna Henry.
Each institution News 5 spoke with said student interest is comparable to years’ past.
“So far, we are really seeing a lot of the same level of documents coming in. Our mail is still coming in at a high rate,” said ETSU Director of Undergraduate Admissions.Vir
The enrollment deposit deadline for UVA Wise is extended to June 15 and Emory & Henry’s is extended to June 1 with a fee reduction by half.
