Weekend Programs at David Crockett Birthplace State Park

Visit the park for their summer weekend programs! All programs are free unless otherwise stated.
Friday June 24th
9:00am: Morning Mindfulness – Start your day and weekend off with a relaxing walk along part of the Crockett Trail, where we will stop to do a meditation exercise! Meet Ranger Chelsea at the Visitor Center.
2:00pm: Repurposing Craft – Many of us recycle our cans, but some of us repurpose them! Meet Ranger Chelsea at the Campground Check-in to make your own luminary! We will provide a soda can if you need one, but please feel free to bring your own.
5:00pm: Bug Safari – Lets go on a safari here in the park! Join Ranger Chelsea at the Stonecypher cabin and we’ll walk to the field. Please wear bug-spray (for the bugs we don’t want to find!)
9:00pm: River Night-life – Let’s take a walk on the riverside to see who’s just now starting their “day!” Meet Ranger Chelsea at the Stonecypher Cabin and bring a flashlight or headlamp.
Saturday June 25th
9:00am: Bird Walk – Come take an easy morning walk to see and hear all the early birds! Meet Ranger Chelsea at the Stonecypher Cabin.
2:00pm: Crockett Scavenger Hunt – Can you find all the landmarks and items? Meet Ranger Chelsea at the Visitor Center to start this Crockett-themed scavenger hunt and learn a bit of history along the way!
5:00pm: Bead Bracelets – Beads have an interesting history that’s not just about beauty! Meet Ranger Chelsea at the Campground Check-in to learn more about them and make your own bracelet!
7:00pm-8:00pm: Music in the Park: JT and Tommy Oaks – Come join us in the Amphitheater to hear the Oaks perform an adaptation of their original musical: A Night at the Alamo with Davy Crockett. This two-man show brings to life the Davy that we all know and love in an entertaining and approachable way for all ages. We have limited seating in the amphitheater but plenty of room to spread a blanket or bring your own camp chair.
Sunday June 26th
9:00am-5:00pm: Homestead Day – Come by Crockett’s Homestead and see what’s going on today!
