03 Nov Beginner Hiker Education Classes
The Johnson City Parks and Recreation Department announcing three days of hiker education classes.
Nature Program Coordinator Connie Deegan will offer novice hiker educational programs, discussing the 10 essential items for your backpack on a hike. Participants will also learn why those items are critical, as well as other information on wilderness survival.
Each day, the group will go on a short hike at Keefauver Farm. That’s located on 632 Hales Chapel Road in Johnson City.
No registration is required. The hikes are free and open to novice hikers of all ages.
Three classes will be held:
- Tuesday, November 3, 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
- Wednesday, November 4, 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.
- Thursday, November 5, Noon until 1 p.m.
