Clinchfield Federal Credit Union began in 1947 as a financial cooperative for Clinchfield Railroad workers. Credit Unions began to spring up out of the need for low-cost lending among its members. Since 1947, Clinchfield Federal Credit Union has grown to over 6,100 members and that number keeps climbing every day.
