OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES for “WCQR”

• Only legal residents of the WCQR geographical listening area of Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina are eligible to win.
• Only one (1) prize per household every thirty (30) days.
• Winners agree to allow WCQR to use their names and or likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation.
• All calls coming in to WCQR may be recorded and aired on the radio station without further approval.
• Failure to claim prize(s) from WCQR within thirty (30) days of notification will result in forfeiture of prize (s).
• Prizes are non-transferable, no substitutions are permitted. Winners are responsible for all federal, state and local taxes in conjunction with any prize won on WCQR. Any and all federal, state and local laws apply to contests.
• Any additional costs related to a prize that may be incurred as a result of accepting a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
• For specific contests, WCQR reserves the right to impose an age limit. WCQR may not be held responsible for any technical or mail difficulities.
• For example: phones that result in a potential winner being disconnected on studio lines, internet problems or interruptions, email not delivered or lost, or mail lost by the post office.
• If a prize becomes unavailable, WCQR will make a good faith attempt to substitute another prize but is not obligated to replace the prize. WCQR will not be responsible or held liable for prizes awarded to an event that is canceled due to circumstances that are out of our control.
• With respect to any disputes regarding contests, the decision of WCQR will be final. WCQR has the right to change the rules or discontinue any contest at any time.
• Employees of WCQR, it’s clients, or associated agencies, vendors, and their immediate family members are not eligible to win.

•  WCQR 88.3 FM reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the contest. In such case, WCQR 88.3 FM may select the recipients from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by WCQR 88.3 FM. WCQR 88.3 FM reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the contest or website or violates these Terms & Conditions.
•  WCQR 88.3 FM has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the contest, to void votes for any reason, including, but not limited to; multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by contest rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering.
•  Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, WCQR 88.3 FM reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.

1. HOW TO ENTER

88. These rules govern the Car Line Karaoke promotion (the “Promotion”) being conducted by 3 WCQR (the “Station”) beginning approximately 7:15-7:30am on Fridays mornings with Rhonda and Adam starting on Friday, August 6, 2021and ending by May 30, 2021. There may be exceptions due to holidays, inclement weather closings, station fundraising weeks, etc.

88. To participate in the Promotion, you may enter via the following method(s): on-air only by calling in to 88.3 WCQR station at 888-477-5676 during the contest.

88. To participate in the Promotion, you must listen to 88.3 WCQR between the hours of 7:30-7:40 am each Friday during the Promotion dates for the announcement of the cue to call. Upon hearing the cue to call, the designated number caller (as announced by the on-air personality prior to the cue to call to get through to the Station contest line at 888-477-5676 will win a prize pack upon confirmation of eligibility.   The caller will be asked to complete the lyrics to the song that Rhonda and Adam played on-air.   At the time of their call, callers will be required to provide all information requested including their full name, complete address (including zip code), day and evening phone numbers and date of birth in order to be eligible to win.  In the event that the selected caller is disconnected or is found to be ineligible, the next eligible caller that successfully makes it through on the call-in line and completes their call will be a winner.  There is no limit to the number of times a listener may attempt to call in to win, but a listener may be a winner only once.  There will be up to a total of one (1) winner each Friday selected on-air during the Promotion dates.  The Station is not responsible for telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her telephone call.  Due to delays in the 3 WCQR online streaming of its broadcast signal, listeners to the online stream may not be able to participate in or may be disadvantaged in participating in on-air contests.

2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

1. The Promotion is open to all persons who are 18 years of age or older and who reside in Southwest Virginia and upper Northeast Tennessee.  Employees of Station, its licensee, the licensee’s parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities, Station’s advertising and promotional agencies, its participating sponsors, other radio stations in the Tri-Cities metropolitan area, the members of their immediate families (spouse, parent, sibling or child) and those living in the same household of each (whether related or not), are ineligible to enter or win.  This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.

600. Listeners are eligible to win a prize in a Promotion conducted by the Station only once every thirty (30) days and only once every six (6) months if the prize is valued over $600. Only one (1) winner per household is permitted in any Station promotion.”

1. The winner must provide valid government-issued photo identification and provide their complete address, date of birth and phone number to claim a prize.

1. Entrants are required to provide truthful information and the Station will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent.

3. PRIZES

100. One (1) prize pack (i.e. T-shirt, CD(s), stickers, etc.) will be awarded in this Promotion each Friday.  The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the prize is less than $100.  The winner will be solely responsible for all taxes and all other fees and expenses not specified herein associated with the receipt and use of the Prize.  The Station accepts no responsibility for repairing any real or supposed damage to any prize.

1. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of the Station at the address below. The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty-five (45) days of winning.  In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss.  The Station is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.

1. There is no substitution, transfer or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the Station may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes or cash of comparable value. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and unless otherwise expressly specified, do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses.  Other restrictions may apply.

4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

1. Decisions of the Station management with respect to the Promotion are final.

1. A winner will be selected each Friday morning of the promotion immediately following the successful completion of the karaoke song lyrics on-air.

1. A winner will be selected based on their ability to successfully complete the lyrics to the song Rhonda and Adam play that specific Friday. A winner will not be selected based on singing talent, but only their ability to successfully complete the lyrics. 

5. CONDITIONS

1. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winner. The winner will be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 with the winner’s full Social Security Number or the equivalent for receipt of any prize valued at $600 or more or for any prizes awarded by the Station (or any other Positive Alternative Radio station in Station’s market) in a calendar year with an aggregate value of $600 or more.  Failure to submit a complete W-9 or equivalent will result in forfeiture of the prize.  Such winnings of $600 or more will be reported to the IRS.

1. By participating in the Promotion, the winner agrees to have the winner’s name, voice and likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to the Promotion without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.

1. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, the Station, in its sole discretion, may require Promotion winner (and any travel companion(s) or guest(s)) to sign a liability release, agreeing to release and hold harmless the Station, its licensee, the licensee’s parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities, their respective officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives and all of their successors and assigns from and against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize and participation in the Promotion.

1. If for any reason this Promotion cannot be executed as planned, including, but not limited to, as a result of infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Station that corrupt or affect the security, administration, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion, or if the Promotion is compromised or becomes technically corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, the Station reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Promotion. If the Promotion is terminated before the original end date, the Station reserves the right to select the winners by random drawing from among all eligible non-suspect entries received as of the termination time/date or otherwise modify the procedure for selecting winners.

1. The Station, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Station’s website. Failure to comply with the rules of the Promotion may result in a contestant’s disqualification and/or forfeiture of any prize or prizes.  If the Station makes a good faith determination that an entrant has cheated or committed fraudulent activity in connection with a Promotion, the Station reserves the right to disqualify that entrant from entering and/or winning future Promotions and to prosecute and seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.

1. The Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the Promotion, including, without limitation, the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Station, any competition or prize-related event or travel is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, the Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the Promotion and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.

1. The Station is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the Promotion or in the announcement of a prize.

88. For a copy of these Official Rules, send a self-addressed stamped envelope for receipt by Friday, May 20, 2022 to “WCQR Car Line Karaoke – Official Rules,” Attn: Promotions, 88.3 WCQR, 2312 Oak Street, Gray, TN 37615. For the names of the prize winners send a self-addressed stamped envelope for receipt by July 20, 2022 to the above address marked WCQR Car Line Karaoke– Winner List.”  The Official Rules and the Winner List (when completed) shall also be available during regular business hours at the main offices of the Station and may be posted online at wcqr.org.
